Birthday: April 13, 1963
Occupation: Wife, Full Time Mom Marital Status: Married No. of Children: 5 Year of Graduation: 1981 Favorite IHS Teacher: Preston Barrett, Gary Nield, Jack Stephens, John Preston and Billie and John Andrews (how could you not love ém?) Favorite 1968-1982 Album: Journey, Led Zepplin - Stairway to Heaven What is your fondest Incline moment/memory?: Going to Puerto Vallarta, Mexico w/Melinda Cano and her family and hanging out with her extended family in Los Angeles and Texas. Doing the Senior Class Play - "See How They Run" and going with the cast to San Francisco to see CATS. Partying & hanging out with Susie Luschar and her older brother's friends, which was always an adventure - we hit a tree in Incline and a pregnant cow somewhere in Nevada on a dark night - those darned "open-range" laws. I think that one finally did her mother's car in. What is the most exciting thing you've done since graduation?: Took a trip/pilgrimage to Medjugorje, Yugoslavia in the 80's(before the war when it still was Yugoslavia) where there were/are apparitions of the Blessed Virgin Mary occurring. (What a trip that was!) And of course met a great guy, got married and now have five beautiful children! Comments: I went straight into College after High School, got a B.A. in Liberal Arts - English Major, and an M.A. in Marriage, Family & Child Counseling and worked w/troubled teens and at a Mental Health Insurance Co., met my husband & got married in the early 90's and began a new career, the hardest yet most rewarding one of all, being a full time mom. I have five children, ages 3 to 13yrs. I've only been to Tahoe a couple times since '81 so I'm real out of touch. This website really got me reminiscing, pulling out the old yearbooks, stepping back in time. We really were lucky to grow up in one of the most beautiful spots on the planet. Great memories, great times! Thanks Brian for pulling this together! It's a great forum to stay connected, especially since I won't be able to make it to the reunion. Send This Person a Message |

Occupation: VP for RE Info Solutions
Company Website: www.facorelogic.com Marital Status: Married No. of Children: 3 Year of Graduation: 1979 Favorite IHS Teacher: Jack Stephens Favorite 1968-1982 Album: Earth Wind and Fires Greatest Hits What is your fondest Incline moment/memory?: In retrospect, my single, solitary "in game" slam dunk as it made a statement everywhere for slow tall white guys with big butts who can't jump: shoot the 30 footer. Of course there are a lot more, however, since my work on this site has amazingly (and in some cases, horrifyingly) wakened long-dormant memories about me by lots of others out there, I'd better take the money and run. (Now that I think about it, being a 5th grader in the far back of my parents Mercury station wagon while the IHS cheerleaders changed into their uniforms in the back seat as my mom drove us all across Nevada at 75 miles an hour HAS to rank right up there. Now that's the stuff "fondest" is made of!) What is the most exciting thing you've done since graduation?: Family: Finding an amazing woman who could put up with me, having an incredible daughter and new twins who appear that they will outgrow me by about their fourth birthday. Life: A four month stint in West Africa teaching everything from swimming to map reading to really bad moonwalking. Comments: When you have completed 95% of your journey, you are halfway there... Birthday: August 18, 1957
Occupation: Homemaker; Retired Nursing Home Administrator; Nonprofit Director Marital Status: Married No. of Children: 5 Year of Graduation: 1975 Favorite IHS Teacher: Mr. Ken Collins, Mrs. Elaine Gillespie, Mr. Rich Carter, Mr. John Andrews Favorite 1968-1982 Album: Tower of Power; Chicago (loved the instrumentation) What is your fondest Incline moment/memory?: All of the music programs we got to be involved in were special because it was a small, growing department. There was great freedom to compose, arrange, and indeed perform. I'm so grateful for the other "band twinkies" in the 6 years I attended IHS from 7-12th grades. The ensembles we formed were incredible from our little Houligans gig band with Pennino on guitar, Bill on bass, and Raikes on drums to our poor attempts to take 25 band students and think we could be a legitimate marching band for football season. I guess those snow storm white-outs were a form of grace in covering up how pathetic we must have looked. We were always best when we got to be a jazz band. I still giggle when I remember the Reno Jazz Festival competition when the pass was closed due to snow. The visual of us all crammed into two rooms at the Virginian, sharing Linda Rogers' clothes since she was the only one who had planned to stay grew to hysterics when Mrs. Gillespie's only option to wear as a pajama was Rob Levine's twice?-used T Shirt with accompanying aroma. Who said teachers don't have strong constitutions? What is the most exciting thing you've done since graduation?: Met and married my husband Brian of 15 years while doing keyboards/vocals for Saturday Night Live at church; Ran nursing facilities with rehab that cared for some of Incline's most precious grandparents who impacted me in my formative years; Co-Chaired a national Health Care PAC and helping create legislative reforms; training up 5 kids whose ages now range from 27 to 7 with being able to currently home school the youngest two; using my music in ministry; facilitating MasterLife curriculum for teens and women of all ages; being IHS's 1st Miss Nevada in '79 and then giving back to the program raising over one million in cash scholarship and tuition grants over 20 years; forming Sierra Nevada's 1st Blue Star Military Moms Chapter when son deployed to Iraq and now coming alongside www.USAtogether.com to help injured soldiers and fallen soldier families; launching a wonderful life after high school with my first flight taking me to tour Europe with America's Youth in Concert (my tape recorded at IHS did the trick with all the encouragement to audition and eventually get a degree at UOP in Music Therapy. Comments: I'm so thankful for going to a small, tight-knit community school where we all had to have supporting, cooperative roles to do the things larger schools took for granted. My biggest lifeskill lesson came when I was passed over for an onstage role in My Fair Lady because music teacher Ken Collins needed me to keep the melody line on saxophone in the orchestra pit. I did not receive it well at the time, but that decision directed me down the path of being a kind of supporting melody line instrument to help people produce programs that they are passionate about while reiforcing the eternal melody line of God's love and reconciliation. Birthday: October 20, 1958
Occupation: General Manager / Finance Director - Electric Utility Marital Status: Married No. of Children: 3 Year of Graduation: 1976 Favorite IHS Teacher: The Big Cactus (Jackson Stephens) Favorite 1968-1982 Album: Innervisions - Stevie Wonder / Frampton Comes Alive - Peter Frampton What is your fondest Incline moment/memory?: So many.... Surviving puberty has to be at the top of the list. Dressing up with no place to go except King's Castle with Robert Lawrence Ash (Incline's James Dean and Miles Davis rolled into one). I miss him. 1975 State B-Ball Championship. Hangin' and competing together with some of the most incredible people ever to grace this planet - Jimmy G., Mark (Fig)G., Bob A., Ron A., Ken R., Benji, Lee K., Rick Miller, - too many to name. Ms. Gillespie (thank you so much), the whole music department and the "Magical Mystery Tour" to the Bay Area. The teachers, coaches and administrators were the best. The hottest cheer and songleaders ever (you know you thought it). It was the 70's. We Are Incline! What is the most exciting thing you've done since graduation?: Despite being totally clueless, it turned out "ah-ight" (hood-speak for all right). I'd say being passionately married for 24 years and being dad to 3 really incredible people ranks highest on my Lifetime Achievement scale. In retrospect, how profound her words -"it's really not all about you!" - as told to me by Laura G. (Funny the stuff you remember). Playing basketball with and against a lot of my heros without making a total ass of myself ranks near the top. The rest is to be continued.... still livin' the dream. Send This Person a Message |

Birthday: October 26, 1956
Marital Status: Married No. of Children: 5 Year of Graduation: 1975 Favorite IHS Teacher: Jack Stephens & Mr. Coppin Favorite 1968-1982 Album: Who's Next What is your fondest Incline moment/memory?: The "Class of 1975" is one of the few classes that can claim the distinction of attending Incline High School for 6 years, and starting there as 7th graders. Remember the snow that first year; the winter of 1968-69 dropped more snow than any year I can recall to date. The first two years at Incline High were legendary. Teachers like Mr. Angel, Mr. Swanson, Mr. Andrews, Mr. Steele, Paul Gruber, and, of course Jackson Stephens, were only possible in those days? Mr. & Mrs Coppin to set us straight when things got out of hand. 7th-12th graders getting drunk with Incline's drink of choice the infamous "Everclear Punch". Every weekend seemed like a rooter's bus to football/basketball games in Chester, Battle Mountain, Virginia City, Lovelock, Fernley, Gerlach, Gabbs, Battle Mountain, Whittel, and lots of other great Nevada towns. A bus full of inebriated and older high school girls was a no-brainer way to spend a Saturday. As for my class, looking back at our 4th grade class (Mrs. Smith) picture, I think there were just 8 of who stayed in Incline long enough to graduate in 1975. Long term memories include: Mike Ross and his VW bug (with studded snow tires it went anywhere). How did we survive some of those situations we got ourselves into? Dave Ireland....cruising in his brand new 74 British Racing Green TR6, and a van full of adventure seeking Bay Area girls. Rick Miller out at Sand Mountain with his Continental Mark??. Lydia Moews, Cindy Earl, and many other beauties who came to IHS for a year or two and then disappeared. Thanks for the memories! We really did live an enchanted life in Incline Village! What is the most exciting thing you've done since graduation?: 4 years in the United States Navy was life changing and an awesome adventure. Cruising the oceans aboard the U.S.S. Enterprise put things in perspective. Experiencing new cultures and seeing how people live in places like Singapore, the Phillipines, Hong Kong, Thailand, Australia, Africa, and other places was priceless. Skiing many Mega resorts in the Alps, (my favorite were St. Anton in Austria & Gstaad-Les Diablaretes in Switzerland) was amazing. All of this travel made me realize that Lake Tahoe, still ranks at the top of anywhere I have ever been. Attending the University of San Francisco for 4 1/2 years while getting my B.S. was enough for me to confirm the big cities are nice places to visit, but, I never want to live in any of them. By far, the most exciting event in my life was meeting and marrying my beautiful and amazing wife, Becky. She came with 5 kids, 3 boys of her own and an adopted daughter and son. Still at home is our 16 year old son (David), a not so focused football star at (El Dorado high school in Placerville), and our adopted 10 year old boy Anthony (of Hawaiian/Latino decent). Becky brought him home when he was 10 hours old, as part of a state prison program (in co-operation with various churches), which places newborn babies in foster homes until their mothers' are released. Anthony's mother never came back for him, and we are thankful for how much he has enriched our lives. Comments: The 40th was a great time! Amazing how little....... yet how so much people have changed. Send This Person a Message |

Occupation: Chiropractor Marital Status: Married No. of Children: 2 Year of Graduation: 1982 Favorite IHS Teacher: They were all good, Preston, Stephens, Carter... Favorite 1968-1982 Album: Rush: Moving Pictures. What is your fondest Incline moment/memory?: Oh man, too many to remember. All the great days on the beach/lake, epic skiing days at Ski Incline (if there was such a thing as "epic" at that little hill), the parties and the parties and did I mention the parties? The ones that the cops DIDN'T bust! Kicking ass on the football field with a great group of athletes. Getting our asses kicked on occasion, especially the 81-82 season God did we suck... HA! I'd do it all over again for sure. What is the most exciting thing you've done since graduation?: Every day with my boys. What a blast they are! Comments: Wow, thanks Bobby Anderson for letting me know about this...JUST TODAY! Holy cow! Send This Person a Message |

Birthday: May 09, 1961
Occupation: Attorney Marital Status: Married Year of Graduation: 1979 Favorite IHS Teacher: Gruber, Mr. Andrews (may they both rest in peace); Favorite 1968-1982 Album: REO Speedwagon Live; Infinity; any AC/DC with Bon Scott. What is your fondest Incline moment/memory?: Getting out of school early to go skiing of all things, how great was that? And Strub and I cutting for like 20 days in a row until my mom came up to Ski Incline and pulled me off the mountain by my ear!! Getting my head taped up by Kaufman and Anderson and Powers having to cut it out of my hair. Think the Mummy here. What is the most exciting thing you've done since graduation?: Got my life together and married my best friend. Told my mom and dad I loved them. Comments: Oh boy, where to begin? After graduation I attended the Univeristy of Southern California where I received a BA in political science. I then went to law school at Boston University where I graduated in the top 5% of my class. Subsequently I became a law clerk to the Supreme Court of Minnesota for 2 years and then began my career as an attorney with Wilson, Sonsini, Goodrich & Rosati in Palo Alto and then mover to Austin, Texas where I led the technology transactions practice group at Brobeck, Phleger & Harrison. While in Minnesota, I attended a USC/Notre Dame football game with some fraternity brothers and I met Beth, who would become my wife about two years later. We had a tough time deciding where to live and actually lived in different time zones for a while until we worked out being in the same city. As you can imagine (to put up with me), she is an amazing woman and has unbelieveable patience and a wonderful spirit. We are in the process of adopting our first child but it is a long process as you all probably are aware. I am now General Counsel at a Fortune 500 company in San Diego, Beth is Director of Development at a private k-12 school and I volunteer as a football coach there as well. Life has been amazingly generous to us and I have changed a lot over the years as we all have I suppose. I saw some of you at a prior reunion and had a great time seeing everyone. I missed the last all-school reunion and it doesn't look as though I will be able to make this one either. Several of you have asked about BOB. He is doing well, retired and my mom and he are living half the year in Phoenix and half in Incline. I know that they are considering attending as well and I know he would love to see everyone especially his trouble-making pal Jackson as well as Paul B., the Griffos and Andersons. Here's to you Jack. OOOHHHMMM! The thing is, I am travelling on business most of the next month and although I want to get up for at least a day or two, it may not work out. However, don't be surprised if I show up out of the blue if I can. It was great to hear about everyone and this site brought back a lot of memories especially of the Routsis', Gingold, Baker/Diaz, Penino, Kindred and the Grows and sooo many others. Golf? Well golf and I have been inseperable for all these years and I played in college, some professional events and still play way too much for Beth. I won the Los Angeles City championship (a pretty big deal to some) in 1991, did well in some national events and am presently working toward playing on the Senior Tour when I turn 50! Hey Fausett, thanks for folloing my efforts those times in Reno, it meant a lot and I will be in touch, I promise. To Swan, I hope your knee recovered from our last outing, you are the best. I am so thankful for the memories that I have and for the amount of work that I can only imagine went into this event. It is a testament to the Highlanders and to Incline as well. We all came out pretty good for a bunch of spoiled brats (not my impression but what other schools thought of us), living in the greatest place on Earth. To all of you, I apologize for the years that slipped by without my staying in touch but life got pretty crazy for a long time. Much more relaxed these days and I will try to do better in the future. I miss you all!! And what I would do if I could go camping again with S. Carlson and D. Mass, I was so naive (& innocent)!! Thanks for a great memory, I miss you both. Send This Person a Message |
